Companywide Initiatives

While our CARE program focuses on many local charitable events, we also work with a variety of national organizations as part of our companywide initiatives. These nonprofit organizations include Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, the National MS Society, Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Ideally, we support and partner with organizations committed to education and youth development, as well as those focusing on family values and strengthening. For the last eight years, we have hosted these three annual companywide signature events through our CARE program.

Our CARE Build Month initiative allows us to share our unique skillset as homebuilders to complete building projects with a variety of nonprofit organizations. From ramp projects and kitchen renovations to building homes or building beds for underserved children, Team Members work alongside our trade and vendor partners to lend a hand by completing projects that impact the lives of those less fortunate.

This year, 17 of the company's 19 local divisions as well as the corporate office, all completed projects to build nearly 1,000 beds. This included partnerships with 16 local chapters of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Local divisions in Atlanta and Salt Lake City participated in build projects with early childhood education centers. Projects included building a playhouse, painting, constructing storage shelves and making minor repairs.

We believe that it’s important for all students to have the tools needed for success in school. Through our School Supplies Drive, we work together with our extended David Weekley Homes family in the cities where we live and build to ease the financial burden of this expense for thousands of families and provide deserving children with the supplies needed for the new school year.

Austin Team Members collected more than $10,500 in school supplies for Helping Hand Home for Children.

“We loved receiving the school supplies for our children. Without David Weekley’s support, we wouldn’t be able to fulfill the needs of our students who rely on this support the very most.”

Our Giving Thanks, Giving Back Thanksgiving Drive is an opportunity for us to count our blessings by lending a helping hand to provide families in need with a hearty Thanksgiving meal. With the help of Homeowners, Homebuyers and the community, we have provided frozen turkeys and nonperishable items to nonprofit organizations across the country.

Donations from the Thanksgiving Drive in Portland benefitted Transitional Youth and provided food for 450 individuals.

“David Weekley Homes has been so incredibly kind and generous to Transitional Youth. When they found out we had a need for a lawn mower, they stepped up and provided more than enough for us to purchase, not only one mower for one of our girl’s houses, but TWO mowers to cover two homes. In addition, they have provided food for all four of our homes. These gifts will be part of Thanksgiving meals for all of our residents and staff this Thanksgiving and Christmas season. We are so grateful to each person who contributed to this wonderful gift.”
